Today I met up with one of my business buddies Reid. We have been working together for the last 2 years. He is a cool cat and co-owner of Amplitude Media.
Reid was the official first CoCoffee (the goal is to have coffee with someone or let others at local coffee shops ask me questions). I am glad the first coffee was with a familiar face. If anything, having a conversation with him helped me understand just how powerful Daily Coffee can become.
Here are my takeaways from my meeting.
- Never give up. It takes about a year to really get things moving, but if you keep at it you are going to make a difference.
- Getting out of your comfort zone can pay off big time. Reid quit his job 2 years ago with no revenue lined up. He has worked his butt off and is building a company that he loves. So proud of the guy.
- Business planning is super important. Every quarter or so, he and his business partner take part in an offsite. This has helped Amplitude Media push forward and stick to the plan. He credits this for most of their success.
Meeting with an old friend is not exactly what CoCoffee is all about, but it was a great start. Looking forward to tomorrow and the conversations that come up.
